A healthy liver is vital for the human body

As the largest organ in our body, our liver has 3 vital functions. It filters and detoxifies our blood, helps our digestion by producing bile and stores important vitamins and carbohydrates. Our Liver Function Test helps detecting liver damage by determining the level of important liver markers.

The test measures your Alanine-aminotransferase (ALT), Aspartate-aminotransferase (AST) and your Total Bilirubin (TBILI) levels. ALT and AST are enzymes produced by the liver, while TBILI is a yellow pigment that is produced during the normal process of red blood cells dying.

Increased ALT and AST levels may be caused by:

  • Damage to red blood cells
  • Heat stroke
  • Too much vitamin A
  • Alcohol abuse
  • Blockage of the bile ducts
  • Heart attack or heart failure
  • Muscle injury
  • Drugs such as statins, aspirin, antibiotics, chemotherapy, barbiturates, and narcotics

How does it work?

You collect a sample from the comfort of your home, send it to our lab and can conveniently download your results in our portal. You will receive an email notification as soon as your results are in.

What guidance will I get along with my results?

After the analysis was conducted, you will receive your lab report. Further to that, we always recommend the discussion of the mailed results with your doctor or practitioner. Although we do not offer medical advice ourselves, we will gladly assist you in finding a suitable therapist in your area.
