Using the freshest real dairy cream and five times distilled Caribbean rum, along with a hint of sugar, vanilla, and other natural flavors, RumChata is bottled using a made-from-scratch cream liqueur recipe. This liqueur is prepared with rum and cream, but it is modeled after horchata, a Mexican beverage made with crushed almonds, rice, and cinnamon. It smells spicy, has an opaque, milky look, and has almond undertones. The product is based on an old Egyptian delicacy that is still enjoyed in many Latin cultures, resembling French orgeat.
