Detail
The latest release from Hendrick's "Cabinet of Curiosities", Flora Adora is all about the florals. But whereas previous floral release, the Midsummer Solstice from 2019, was soft, fruity, and dominated by gentle floral notes of elderflower and orange blossom, Flora Adora doesn't fiddle around. The nose is full of roses, potent lavender and hints of tart raspberries, followed with a subtle sweetness on the palate, like Choward's violet candies, but leaning rose-ward, with more of the tart berry character supporting it. Overall, this is certainly a gin that is well within the Hendrick's flavor wheelhouse, but bumped up to 11. The previous handful of special releases, in particular Lunar and Neptunia, have been very subtle gins, easy to love but not particularly distinct in the long run. Flora Dora turns that trend on it's head and delivers the biggest baddest Hendrick's iteration to date. For floral lovers, this is the real deal. Bottled at 43.4% abv.
